• Best Biking Trails in Will County Forest Preserves (news-usa.today) — Cyclists in Channahon now have a smoother ride thanks to a new bridge at Lake Chaminwood Preserve that directly links its loop trail to the 61.5-mile I&M Canal State Trail. The feature is part of a broader network of Will County bike routes, with future plans to connect the DuPage River Trail to Lake Chaminwood for even more local riding options.
   

• 2 men charged in catalytic converter theft linked to Troy Dist. 30-C school buses in Will County (shawlocal.com) — Families in Channahon whose children ride Troy 30-C buses may be interested to know two men have been indicted over a 2025 theft of about 30 catalytic converters that sidelined most of the district's fleet. Prosecutors say the vandalism, which forced e-learning days for more than 3,500 students across Channahon and neighboring towns, could bring up to 15-year prison terms if convictions occur.
