Section of US Rt. 6 Closed Due To Power Lines In Roadway

The Channahon Police Department has sent out a traffic alert advising that power lines are down and in the roadway on US Rt. 6 just east of the Hollywood Casino.

That section of road is currently closed, both east and west bound, and is expected to be for a least a few hours.

Police ask that motorists avoid the area and plan alternate routes.

The National Weather Service has a wind advisory in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday, with winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

Driving may be difficult especially on north-south roads and small tree limbs susceptible to snapping.
