Violent Crime At Thornton's Leads To Arrest

Channahon's Police Department investigated the crime.

CHANNAHON, IL - Just days after turning 20, Zachary C. Williams of Channahon went to the local Thornton's gas station and committed a crime of violence, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday at the Will County Courthouse. P0lice took Williams into custody late Wednesday night on a bench warrant for his arrest. Williams resides in the 24200 block of West Hummingbird Drive.

A complaint submitted by Channahon Deputy Chief of Police Adam Bogart indicates that Williams had attacked someone inside their vehicle at the Thornton's Gas Station, 24100 block of West Eames St., on April 18.

As a result, Williams faces three felony charges, aggravated battery, robbery and vehicle invasion. The complaint states that Williams used force to reach inside an Audi while being occupied by another adult male. Williams is accused of taking money from the person in the car "by the use of force," and using force to strike the motorist "about the body" during the attack.

Unrelated, Williams spent some time in the Will County jail last September on two separate occasions after Channahon Police and Minooka's Police Department arrested him for violating a civil no-contact order.
