CHICAGO, IL - It's another summer weekend in Chicago with several events taking place. Here's a look at our five favorite.
Bud Billiken Parade: Chicago’s longtime back-to-school celebration steps off from Martin Luther King Drive at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. The route will progress from 39th Street to 55th Street. It’s the 87th year for the event put on by Chicago Defender Charities.
Retro on Roscoe: A three-day festival featuring artisans, antique vendors and cool merchants will take over Roscoe Street, the main drag in the city’s Roscoe Village neighborhood.

Reggae Fest Chicago: The inaugural and long-awaited Reggae Festival in Chicago will bring “an authentic, family-friendly island style vibe to the Windy City masses at Addams Medill Park, 1301 W. 14th St., according to Choose Chicago. The one-day festival will begin at noon and end at 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 13. Toots & The Maytals and Lee “Scratch” Perry will headline the festival, which is sure to be popular with Bob Marley fans everywhere.

Pakistan Independence Day Parade: The parade celebrating the city’s Pakistani population will kickoff at Devon Avenue and Damen on the Rogers Park-Edgewater border at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Chicago Nerd Comedy Festival will feature a stellar lineup at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. from Thursday through Sunday.
Suburban Honorable Mention: The Chicago Southland Dragon Boat Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Fay's Point in Blue Island.
