Zillow Loses Antitrust Battle Over Chicago Area Listing Feed (claimsjournal.com) — A federal judge in Chicago has ruled that Zillow must resolve its dispute with Midwest Real Estate Data through arbitration, ending a temporary order that guaranteed its access to Chicago-area listings. The decision, framed by Zillow as a setback for local buyers and sellers, could influence how easily Chicago residents find homes on big real estate portals.
4. Report: Speed cameras ticket drivers every 48 seconds (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Chicago's speed cameras issued tickets so frequently in 2025 that drivers were fined roughly every 48 seconds, generating $64.2 million in revenue, according to a new analysis. Critics say Mayor Brandon Johnson's reliance on this growing income contradicts earlier promises and raises questions about whether the cameras truly improve safety or mainly burden residents going slightly over the limit.
5. Illinois asks for FEMA help after August storms (cnhi.com) — Illinois is seeking FEMA disaster aid for August storms that battered Chicago's south suburbs, including parts of Cook and Will counties, with tornadoes, 100 mph winds, and flooding.
