Armed Woman At Trump Tower Prompts Massive Police Response: Reports

SWAT officers responded Wednesday to an isolated domestic incident downtown, according to police.

CHICAGO, IL — There was a massive police presence downtown Wednesday near Trump International Hotel and Tower after a woman entered the skyscraper with a gun, according to reports.

The woman walked into the building around 11:30 a.m. with a rifle, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

"SWAT officers are on-scene in the 400 block of N. Wabash for a domestic-related incident," police said in a tweet at 1:30 p.m. "At this time, we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public."

The situation was resolved without injuries, police tweeted around 3 p.m., adding one person was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

ABC7's Maher Kawash tweeted around 12:30 p.m. that Wabash Avenue was closed. Several Twitter users shared photos of armed officers, barricades and numerous law enforcement vehicles outside the building.
