1) Lightfoot says campaign emails to Chicago Public School teachers were a mistake. Mayor Lori Lightfoot apologized yesterday after a campaign staffer emailed teachers at their CPS accounts in an attempt to recruit student volunteers for reelection efforts. Lightfoot said the campaign staffer won't be fired, but she reminded her team of the "impenetrable" wall between her political office and reelection campaign. Multiple groups are looking into the matter for potential ethics violations. (Block Club Chicago)

2) Worker dies after being pulled from debris following Bronzeville building collapse. A worker was killed after he became trapped under five feet of debris following a building collapse yesterday morning in the 700-block of East Oakwood Boulevard in Bronzeville. The collapse occurred in a vacant, three-story building currently under construction. Two other workers were at the site at the time of the collapse but were not trapped. (ABC 7)

3) Chicago Bears name Big Ten boss Kevin Warren new president, CEO. Kevin Warren, Big Ten Commissioner since 2019, replaces Ted Phillips, who is retiring next month from the franchise after 40 years. Warren, 59, previously worked in the NFL, most recently with the Minnesota Vikings. He becomes the Bears' fifth president and the first from outside the organization. (Chicago Patch)

4) West Side group wins $10M to create walkable village with grocery stores, arts center, clinic. The Garfield Park Rite to Wellness Collaborative is the recipient of the Pritzker Traubert Foundation's 2022 Chicago Prize. The group's project, called Sankofa Wellness Village, will be a walkable village in West Garfield Park that allows residents to be no more than 15 minutes from what they need—from health care and groceries to arts and entertainment. 5) Online marketplace brings together some of the city's most exciting chefs and food entrepreneurs. Here Here Market, an online marketplace that launched in August 2021, sells more than 800 culinary products made by chefs, bakers and entrepreneurs throughout Chicago—and a few outside the city. Co-founder and CEO Disha Gulati originally thought Here Here was going to be "a hyperlocal marketplace, connecting Chicago creators with Chicago consumers," but now more than half of sales are from outside of Chicago.
