Best Place To Get A Beer: Patch Readers Have Spoken

We asked, you answered: This is the best place to grab a brew in Chicagoland, according to your votes.

ILLINOIS — In honor of National Beer Day, we asked Patch readers: What's the best place in Chicagoland to get a beer? From upscale establishments to neighborhood watering holes to craft beer havens, you submitted your picks. Now, after a month of voting, it's time for the big reveal.

According to your votes, the clear winner of Patch's Best Place To Get A Beer contest is Iron&Glass, a tap room and bottle shop in Romeoville. The business — which celebrated its first anniversary in December — was far and away the winner despite some stiff competition. Iron&Glass, tucked in a shopping center at 632 S. Weber Road, offers draft and packaged craft beer (plus wine and non-alcoholic options), with a focus on local breweries.

Other nominations included fire + wine in Glen Ellyn, Elder Brewing in Joliet, Scorched Earth Brewing Company in Algonquin, Hailstorm Brewing Co. in Tinley Park, The Brass Tap in Orland Park, 12 Handles Ale House in Crest Hill, Dry City Brewery in Wheaton, Solemn Oath in Naperville, Tribes Alehouse in Tinley Park and Two Brothers (locations in Warrenville, Naperville and Aurora).

While there was no shortage of opinions, one thing's for sure: There's no lack of great craft brew in Chicago and suburbs.
