Body Found In Airplane That Left Chicago Airport On Christmas Eve: Reports

CHICAGO, IL — A body was found Tuesday morning in the wheel well of a United Airlines plane that took off in Chicago, according to reports.

The body was discovered inside the wheel well of one of the aircraft's main landing gears when it arrived in Maui, Hawaii, according to NBC 5 Chicago.

It's unclear when or how the person entered the wheel well, which is only accessible from outside of the aircraft, a United Airlines spokesperson told ABC7 Chicago.

"United is working with law enforcement authorities on the investigation," the spokesperson said.

The flight left Chicago's O'Hare International Airport at 9:31 a.m. and landed in Maui at 2:12 p.m. local time. The deceased person's identity has not been released.
