Leñasada will debut inside Slice Factory’s River Grove location at 8800 Grand Ave, bringing two bold, craveable brands under one roof and marking its first co-branded location. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. will kick off the grand opening celebration, following $1 tacos and a “Free Tacos for a Year” giveaway for the first 50 guests in line.*
To round out the festivities, guests can also enjoy a limited-time offer of three tacos for $9.99 through the end of the month.

At the heart of Leñasada is a wood-fired identity unlike any other that shapes the entire menu. From its proteins – including tender, richly-seasoned asada (arrachera skirt steak), alongside chicken, al pastor and shrimp – to its house-made salsas and signature street corn, each item reflects the depth of flavor and consistency of traditional wood-fired cooking. The opening marks a new chapter for Slice Factory as the brand expands into innovative, culturally-rooted offerings that align with evolving consumer preferences. Guests can expect to enjoy Slice Factory favorites alongside Leñasada’s handcrafted, Mexican street-inspired menu, which emphasizes wood-fired flavor and a more protein-forward approach to everyday dining.

The concept for Leñasada was born out of a shared love for food, authenticity and innovation when Dom partnered with Juan Alcauter, a self-taught chef with a deep passion for Mexican culinary traditions. Raised in the flavors, techniques and fire-driven cooking of his heritage, Juan began cooking at a young age and developed a distinctive approach centered on wood-fired meats, house-made salsas and bold, authentic flavors. What started as a personal interest in smoking meats gradually evolved into something larger, as the opportunity emerged to bring his culinary perspective to a broader audience. From there, the vision for Leñasada took shape – merging traditional Mexican street food with the energy and accessibility of the modern fast-casual space to create a concept that is both culturally grounded and uniquely differentiated within the category. 

The 2,200-square-foot co-branded space is designed to support dine-in, takeout and catering, responding to growing demand for flexibility and convenience across occasions. Open daily, the location serves guests from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. With robust catering capabilities for both Slice Factory and Leñasada, the spot is built to serve everything from quick, everyday meals to family gatherings, office lunches, private events and large-scale catering orders. Guests can enjoy Slice Factory’s standout creations, including the iconic jumbo slice and the new EDGE pizza with 360 degrees of crispy goodness, alongside Leñasada’s bold, wood-fired tacos, burritos, quesadillas and bowls – delivering crave-worthy flavors and fast-casual convenience for every occasion.

Chicagoland's largest no-audition choral program for adults "55 and better" has nine choirs throughout Chicago and the suburbs, including the Gold Coast. Conducted by Jonathan Miller, the choir rehearses and performs at the beautiful, historic Fourth Presbyterian Church on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, 126 E. Chestnut Ave. Three sessions a year are offered -- two 15-week sessions in the fall and spring, and one 8-week session in the summer). All sessions include: a weekly 90-minute rehearsal with an additional (optional) online Friday rehearsal; guidance and instruction by professional conductors and accompanists; licensed sheet music; accessible rehearsal and performance venues; and free, public performances by each choir. Registered singers are also free to rehearse and perform with as many of the nine choirs as they wish for just one registration fee per session.
