A melodic hardcore outfit from Alpine, California, Being as an Ocean combine drifting atmospheres with aggressive outbursts. After emerging in 2011, the band flirted with mainstream success in 2014 with the release of their Billboard-charting sophomore effort, How We Both Wondrously Perish. They continued to refine their visceral post-rock and emotional hardcore sound on subsequent releases, including 2015's Being as an Ocean, 2017's Waiting for Morning to Come, and 2019's Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O. Story. Following a expanded reissue of their 2012 debut, Dear G-D, they delivered their sixth full-length, 2024's Death Can Wait.

Taking influence from bands like , , and , Boston metalcore outfit Vanna were barely together a year before signing with in fall 2005. lowheaven: Formed in the spring of 2020, beneath the dark clouds of the COVID-19 pandemic and stay-at-home orders, lowheaven’s sound oscillates somewhere between post-hardcore, screamo, blackened noise, and metal. The central question is characterization. A merchant cash advance is marketed as a purchase of future receivables, not a loan &mdash; a distinction that keeps it outside traditional usury limits. But when the daily payments never adjust to a business's actual revenue, when the funder retains recourse regardless of how the business performs, and when the funder bears no real risk, courts have grounds to treat the agreement as a loan in substance. That recharacterization is the pivot point of modern MCA defense, and it turns on how the deal actually worked rather than the label on the paperwork.
For Chicago's dense base of restaurants, logistics operators, contractors, and retail businesses, the pressure often escalates fast. What starts as a stacked set of advances taken during a cash crunch can spiral when fixed daily ACH withdrawals continue even as revenue falls &mdash; the classic cash-flow trap that pushes viable businesses toward default.
There is also a venue surprise many Chicago owners never see coming. Numerous MCA agreements contain forum-selection clauses routing disputes to New York courts. Gold Coast Sounds Good Choir

Chicagoland's largest no-audition choral program for adults "55 and better" has nine choirs throughout Chicago and the suburbs, including the Gold Coast. Conducted by Jonathan Miller, the choir rehearses and performs at the beautiful, historic Fourth Presbyterian Church on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, 126 E. Chestnut Ave. Three sessions a year are offered -- two 15-week sessions in the fall and spring, and one 8-week session in the summer). All sessions include: a weekly 90-minute rehearsal with an additional (optional) online Friday rehearsal; guidance and instruction by professional conductors and accompanists; licensed sheet music; accessible rehearsal and performance venues; and free, public performances by each choir. Registered singers are also free to rehearse and perform with as many of the nine choirs as they wish for just one registration fee per session. Scholarships are readily available -- call the Sounds Good office at 630.395.9542 to apply. Sounds Good Choir also offers the only choir in Illinois for adults with early-stage dementia and their care partners. The Good Memories program is specifically designed to provide a safe, welcoming community in which to sing, socialize, and have fun.
