The National Hellenic Museum will host its fourth annual Homerathon, a community reading of Homer’s The Odyssey aloud in its entirety. Presented in partnership with UIC Chicago’s Department of Classics and Mediterranean Studies, the two-day event invites the public to participate in one of literature’s most enduring epic journeys.

Readings will take place across multiple languages, including ancient and modern Greek, Spanish, Czech, German and Polish, in collaboration with Greek schools and cultural organizations.

Visitors can sign up to read a three-minute passage or drop in to listen. The event is free and open to the public, with no reservation required for audience members. On Thursday, guests can also enjoy a happy hour with drinks and conversation following the day’s readings.
