Chicago Bears Hike Up 2017 Season Ticket Prices

The overall average season ticket price will increase by 2.6% next season, the team said Wednesday. But some fans could see a decrease.

CHICAGO, IL — When the Chicago Cubs raised the price of season tickets at the end of last year, they did it in the still-brilliant afterglow of a World Series championship. Now the Chicago Bears have decided to follow suit, but they're doing it beneath the Eeyore-like, little, black rain cloud of a third consecutive losing season and uncomfortable questions at the quarterback position, arguably the most important position on the team.

The Bears announced Wednesday an overall average 2.6-percent increase for 2017 season tickets, according to the team's website. Tickets for non-club seats will go up an average of 2.9 percent, and the cost of club seat tickets will rise by an average of 2.0 percent, the team said.

Although most season ticket holders will see a 1-percent to 4-percent price hike, some fans could see a decrease in their ticket prices, according to the Bears. This is the first price increase for Solider Field since 2014.
