Chicago Man Stabbed in Neck After Bar Argument: Police

AURORA, IL — A 35-year-old Aurora man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a man in the neck.

Michael W. Moser-Booth, of the 2300 block of Goldenrod Court in Aurora, was also charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection to the stabbing of a 24-year-old Chicago man, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Just before midnight April 12, Moser-Booth entered O’Malley’s Bar, in the 700 block of Hill Avenue in Aurora, and confronted a man who was with a group of people, including a woman both of them knew, according to police.

“An argument ensued over the woman before Moser-Booth allegedly took out a knife, threatened to kill the man, and then stabbed him in the neck,” police said. “Moser-Booth ran from the bar after the stabbing but was tackled in the parking lot and detained by an off-duty Aurora police officer who had witnessed the incident.”

When officers arrived, Moser-Booth was taken into custody and the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered while he was still holding it. No one except the victim received any injuries, according to police.

The man was taken to an Aurora hospital by Aurora Fire Department paramedics for treatment of critical injuries. He is expected to survive.

Moser-Booth’s bail was set at $150,000. He has been transferred to the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles and has a pending court date.
