His FOIA lawsuit forced the CTA to release complaints and contract details about Action K-9 Security, raising questions about dog welfare, guard conduct, and how nearly $90 million in public funds are being used to protect riders.

River Forest residents push back on proposed express train connecting O'Hare to downtown (wgntv.com) — River Forest officials and residents are pushing back hard against a proposed high‑speed O'Hare Flyer train that would link O'Hare Airport to downtown Chicago in just 15 minutes. Both hospitals improved in multiple specialties, reinforcing the city's reputation for high-quality children's healthcare and giving parents more data points when choosing where to seek treatment.
   

4. Writers' monumental 'Leopoldstadt' takes top honors at equity Jeff Awards (dailyherald.com) — Chicago's theater community just celebrated big wins at the 58th Joseph Jefferson Awards, honoring excellence in city and suburban Equity productions. From Writers Theatre's acclaimed "Leopoldstadt" to standout performances at Goodman, Paramount, Drury Lane, and others, the awards spotlighted the depth of local talent and productions you can still catch on area stages.
   

5. Pete Crow-Armstrong blasts homer as Cubs take down Braves (statenews.net) — Chicago Cubs fans got a big boost as Pete Crow‑Armstrong crushed his 42nd homer and drove in four runs in a 7–3 home win over the Braves, strengthening Chicago's grip on the top NL wild‑card spot. David Peterson added six strong innings, while late Braves rallies fell short. The victory keeps the Cubs' postseason hopes firmly on track.
