Chicago Winter Overnight Parking Ban Begins
Warning for drivers who park their cars on Chicago's streets: the overnight parking ban begins Friday.

CHICAGO, IL — The city's overnight parking ban went into effect Friday morning, catching many people off guard. Tow trucks were patrolling the city, and took hundreds of vehicles to impound lots. Many vehicles were towed from West Division Street in the city's Old Town neighborhood, and according to several reports, dozens of cars were towed from Chicago's West Side in under 90 minutes.
The winter parking ban will be enforced between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. until April 1, 2018, whether there's snow or not, according to the Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation.
Winter parking violators will be slapped with a $150 towing fee, a $60 ticket and a $20 storage fee per day.
