CHICAGOLAND WEATHER FORECAST: Temps in the 60s by the Weekend
A warm up is in store for the area starting Thursday.

Temperatures tipping over the 60-degree mark are possible for the Chicago area by the weekend.
While Wednesday is expected to be chillier, with highs between 31 and 38 degrees throughout the Chicago area, those temps will begin to warm on Thursday. Temps should peak on Saturday when near-record warmth is in the forecast. High temps between 55 and 62 are possible, and could break the warmest temp on record for that date for Chicago, which is currently 62 degrees, and Rockford, which is 55 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny skies are also in the forecast for Friday through Sunday. High temps between 47 and 60 degrees are expected on Friday and temps between 49 and 61 degrees are expected on Saturday.

The temps this weekend are expected to be 15 to 20 degrees above the normal temps for this time of year.
President’s Day on Monday is also expected to be especially warm, and could break a record for that date, as temps again tip into the 60s. There is also no precipitation in the forecast through late Monday or Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Here is a more detailed look at the forecast for the coming days:
- WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph.
- THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 30s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
- FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s inland...but only in the upper 40s near the lake. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
- SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s.
- SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s inland...but only around 50 near the lake.
- MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s.
