📰 Top 5 stories in Chicago:
1) Despite community concern, plans to move 250 migrants into the vacant Wadsworth Elementary School could move forward as early as today. A community meeting was held Saturday to provide neighbors with a clearer timeline for the Woodlawn shelter, which is slated to remain one for no more than two years. Neighbors say they feel the plan was rushed, with little community input. (CBS Chicago)
2) According to Rick Gosselin's Power Poll, the 1985 Bears once again were voted the greatest Super Bowl defense of all time. Two hundred twenty-five former players, coaches, officials, writers and broadcasters participated in the poll. The options were the 1969 Kansas City Chiefs, 1972 Miami Dolphins, 1974 Pittsburgh Steelers, 1977 Dallas Cowboys, 1985 Chicago Bears, 2000 Baltimore Ravens, 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 2013 Seattle Seahawks. (NBC Chicago)
3) Lyric Opera of Chicago's "The Factotum," by Will Liverman and DJ King Rico, is the first opera to incorporate an onstage DJ, and among the first with an entirely Black and BIPOC cast and creative team. The new work—which opens Feb. 3 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance—is inspired by Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" and set in a contemporary Black barbershop on Chicago's South Side. (Chicago Sun-Times)
4) Hundreds of students from more than 100 Chicago high schools received hands-on construction experience Saturday at the Obama Presidential Center site. Students who participated will have the opportunity to get an on-site architecture or construction-related job after graduation. The Obama Center is still on track to be completed by 2025. (ABC 7)
5) A mansion often regarded as Chicago's most luxurious home is on the market for a cool $30 million—$15 million less than previously listed in 2020. Located at 1932 N. Burling Street, the 25,000-square-foot home in Lincoln Park spans more than eight city blocks, has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 5,000-bottle wine cellar, seven fireplaces and a sauna. (NBC Chicago)
