Cops Nab Man Who Stole Car With Baby Girl Inside
A West Side man left the infant on the street and got back in the stolen car, police claim.

CHICAGO, IL - A West Side man faces a slew of charges after police allege that he stole a car with a baby girl inside, left the girl on the street in her car seat and got back into the vehicle.
Ardell Walker, 26, of the 5200 block of W. Van Buren St. was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, aggravated kidnapping, child endangerment and 13 moving violations Thursday in connection with the incident that occurred in the 5800 block of W. Roosevelt Rd. on Tuesday.

Police reports indicate Walker stole a car with a 1-year-old girl inside on Roosevelt Rd. around 1:40 p.m. that day. A short time later, he left the girl in her car seat in the 900 block of S. Menard Ave. He re-entered the car and fled.
Walker then crashed the car and was taken into custody by police in Cicero after a brief foot pursuit.

The girl was not injured and reunited with her mother shortly after the incident.
