Comcast Sports Net on Thursday announced it will live stream all Cubs and Sox games during the 2017 MLB season.

"The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox will be available in more places and on more screens than ever before," CSN Chicago said in a press release.
The live streams are part of a long-awaited deal between MLB and CSN's parent company, NBCUniversal, Crain's Chicago Business Reported.

In the past, fans could live stream games through MLB.tv at a cost of around $110 per season. Previously, MLB.tv users were blacked out if they lived in a market where the games were broadcast on TV, but a 2016 legal settlement ensured all users could live stream games regardless of their market, Crain's reported.
Now, CSN Chicago subscribers won't need an MLB.tv login to watch games online. CSN already offers live streams for Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks games.
"The addition of MLB streaming further illustrates our commitment to provide our viewers with the most in-depth and compelling Cubs and White Sox content in and out of the home and on any device," said Phil Bedella, vice president/general manager of CSN Chicago.
“After such a historic season, we are thrilled Cubs fans will be able to stream games on their choice of device, either inside or outside the home,” said Crane Kenney, Cubs president of business operations.
White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf was also happy about the deal.
"Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for fans to watch their White Sox, regardless of where they are or what they are doing," he said. "Sports fans deserve to see all the action all season long.”
To access the video player, fan can visit CSNChicago.com on their computer or download the NBC Sports app, available on Apple iOS, Android and some Samsung devices. Live streams are also available on Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10, and Xbox. Chicago fans can visit the CSN Chicago FAQ for more information.
