Suspect In Custody, Possibly Abducted Erie Couple Found: FBI

Constance VanOosten and husband Larry D. VanOosten were possibly abducted from rural Erie, Illinois late Wednesday and found Thursday.

ERIE, IL – The FBI says one person was arrested after the possible abduction of a married couple, Constance P. VanOosten and her husband Larry D. VanOosten, from a home in Erie, Illinois. The couple was found safe and in good health, according to the Bureau.

The name of the suspect in custody and other details of the investigation have not been released as of early Thursday morning.

The FBI said Wednesday night its preliminary investigation suggests the possible abduction may have been financially motivated.

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office received a report from 1st Trust and Savings Bank in Albany, Ill., regarding a withdrawal of money from the victim’s account, according to the Quad-City Times.
