Falling Ice From Willis Tower Shuts Down Street Around High-Rise
No injuries have been reported from the falling debris Thursday, the Chicago Fire Department said.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have shut down parts of Wacker Drive in the Loop on Thursday because of falling ice from Willis Tower, according to the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications. The closures are expected to cause traffic delays during rush hour, the department said in an online update.
The closed area includes southbound Wacker Drive, between Jackson Boulevard and Adams Street, according to the city. The city sent out an alert about the closure just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, and officials have not said how long the stretch will be shut down.
The Chicago Fire Department tells the Chicago Tribune that no injuries have been reported from the falling ice.
