The unidentified man slipped and landed face down on the warning track while Thursday's game was in a rain delay.
- UPDATED (8:41 p.m. Thursday, July 7)
A fan was injured Thursday night after he tried to jump from the right-center field bleachers at Wrigley Field onto the field during a rain delay between the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves, a team spokesperson said, according to The Associated Press.
The unidentified man, however, slipped and landed face down on the field's warning track, the AP reported. Paramedics took the man to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and the extent of his injuries were not known, according to NBC 5 Chicago.
Three people were needed to turn over the man, who was motionless on the field after the fall, the AP reported. A brace then was put around his neck, and he was placed on a backboard before being taken off the field in a cart.
