Illinois Has One Of Best Cities To Celebrate Valentine's Day

The state also has several of the most romantic restaurants in America.

CHICAGO, IL — Love is in the air, and if you live in Chicagoland, you're in luck: the city ranked among the top 10 places to celebrate Valentine's Day in the country, according to consumer finance site WalletHub. In fact, the Windy City came in at No. 5, outranking most big cities in the nation.

WalletHub compared 100 of the nation's largest cities among 23 different metrics, from florists per capita to forecasted precipitation to cost of a three-course meal for two. "With love in the air, WalletHub played cupid to determine the most romantic and cost-effective cities for celebrating Valentine’s Day," the site said.

Chicago ranked No. 5, just behind Orlando and Las Vegas and ahead of New York. According to WalletHub, these are the top 10 best cities for Valentine's Day:

Chicago ranked at No 62 on the list in terms of best city for your budget on Valentine's Day, No. 4 for activities to do, No. 5 for gift options and No. 36 for weather.

Last year, several Illinois restaurants made OpenTable's list of 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America. Meanwhile, Delish ranked an upscale Chicago eatery as the most romantic dining experience in Illinois.
