"Jump for Vets" Raises Over $32,000 for SGB Treatment for Veterans
Approximately 120 Attendees Participated in the Morning's Jump Rope Workout
In support of Veteran’s Day on November 11th and the 15,000 Chicagoland veterans suffer from PTSD, the West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) teamed up with Rags Of Honor1 to host “Jump for Vets" on Sunday, October 30th from 9am -11am CST at the United Center Atrium in Chicago.
Approximately 120 jumpers participated in the annual “Jump for Vets” fundraiser where participants jumped rope for 60 minutes in intervals of 2 minutes to raise funds for Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) treatment for veterans. SGB, which significantly reduces continual sleep disturbance, surges of anxiety and difficulties concentrating, costs $1800 and is not covered by insurance or VA Benefits. Rags of Honor1 has stepped in as the only veteran non-profit to cover the costs.
The event was created by Mark Doyle, founder of Rags of Honor1 and Katalin Ogren, owner of POW! Gym, and featured a live DJ, breakfast bites, and beverages, with each jumper receiving a t-shirt.
