Northbound lanes were blocked off downtown.

CHICAGO — Northbound lanes on Lake Shore Drive were closed Monday between Grand Avenue and Monroe Street after a "structural emergency" on the bridge, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation. Northbound traffic was being rerouted at Randolph.
A steel beam that supports the road was discovered by a CDOT crew, officials said. Chicago police said the bridge was being surveyed.
As of Monday afternoon, no injuries or vehicle damage was reported.
