Lakeshore Flood Advisory In Effect For Cook, Lake Counties
Waves up to 11 feet tall could sweep Lake Michigan's shoreline, according to the National Weather Service.

CHICAGO — A Lakeshore Flood Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Thursday for Cook and Lake Counties. The National Weather Service warned that waves up to 11 feet tall could come crashing onto the Lake Michigan shoreline. East winds could reach up to 40 mph and cause flooding, the weather service said. Chicago's North Side and the northern suburbs could be hit particularly hard.
At least minor flooding is expected along the shoreline in Cook and Lake Counties. High winds are expected to continue until Saturday, the weather service said.
