Little Village Academy Students Participate in Garden Donation
Ald. Ricardo Munoz, State Rep. Lisa Hernandez joined with NPL Construction Co. and Christy Webber Landscapes
In celebration of the “What Diversity Means to Me” art project, students at Little Village Academy joined with representatives from NPL Construction Co., Ald. Ricardo Munoz and State Rep. Lisa Hernandez to plant annuals, perennials and shrubs donated by NPL after its participation in the 2018 Chicago Flower & Garden Show.
Featured in NPL’s garden at this year’s Show were four large cubic planter boxes, brightly painted by students from Little Village Academy, Kilmer Elementary School and Stevenson Elementary School. Students painted murals on each of the four sides to illustrate what diversity means to them, representing a piece of Chicago’s broad-ranging neighborhoods. This planter boxes now reside at each of the schools that painted them.
“At NPL we’re proud to participate in the communities where we live and work,” said Dylan Hradek, NPL Senior Vice President. “Celebrating diversity is not only central to Chicago’s core, but to NPL’s culture."
