Landline outages were being reported nationwide, including in Illinois.

CHICAGO, IL — Comcast said business customers may be experiencing problems with the XFINITY Voice service. Widespread landline outages were being reported beginning at around 11:30 a.m. Central time. By 2:30 p.m., the website Down Detector, which crowdsources outage reports, said the most reports were coming from major cities including Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, New York, Houston, Denver, Philadelphia and Seattle.

Comcast Business also acknowledged the issue, saying via Twitter, "We are aware that there is an issue with our Comcast Business Voice service and we apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate our customers' patience as we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible."
