Watch a White Sox Fan Get Hot Under the Collar Over Chris Sale's Fashion Fit (VIDEO)

But fan opinion is far from uniform when it comes to how the pitcher expressed his dislike of his team's throwback jerseys.

CHICAGO, IL — White Sox pitcher Chris Sale returns Thursday night for the final game of the South Siders crosstown series with the Cubs after serving a five-day suspension for throwing a clubhouse tantrum over his team's throwback jerseys.

According to reports, Sale ripped the 1976-style uniforms players were required to wear—literally. He apparently cut up some of the team's unis with scissors before a game Saturday to show his dissatisfaction with the attire. His complaint: The jerseys were uncomfortable and ill-fitting, and playing in them would compromise his pitching performance.

Sale's explanation for his behavior, however, didn't sit well with one White Sox fan, who decided to post a sick burn (word play!) in video form on his Facebook page:

But there was at least one White Sox fan this week who agreed with the shear audacity (more word play!) of Sale's fashion critique. Reddit user geneadamsPS4 posted a photo Wednesday of an ample man attending Tuesday's Cubs-White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field who had a sympathetic message for Sale:

That photo gives new meaning to the ballpark chant, "We want a pitcher, not a belly itcher."
