Metra Train Hits Pedestrian In Chicago: Authorities

CHICAGO — A pedestrian was struck Monday evening by a Union Pacific West Metra train in Chicago, according to authorities.

The collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. when an inbound train hit a male near the Kedzie station, Metra spokesperson Martha Hill said, adding the victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Trains on the line set to depart Ogilvie Transportation Center at 7 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. were canceled, as was the 9:25 p.m. train out of Elburn, according to Metra, but trains in both directions were moving again as of 8:45 p.m.
