More Than 500 Flights Canceled; Snow Could Continue Through Monday Afternoon in Chicago
Snow expected to taper off in the afternoon.

CHICAGO, IL -- With the possibility of more snow on the way for Chicagoland, more than 500 flights were cancelled at O'Hare and Midway airports Sunday night and Monday morning.
Snow was expected to continue Monday morning, tapering off into an occasional light snow or flurries in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
As of just before 11 a.m., 424 flights had been canceled at O'Hare, along with 113 at Midway, according to WGN.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Monday, and a lake effect snow watch remains in place until Tuesday afternoon. Lake effect snow was expected to develop Monday night, peaking in intensity after midnight through mid- to late Tuesday morning with an additional two to four inches of accumulation.
