Obama Farewell Address Tickets Go Quickly
Thousands of ticket-seekers turned out Saturday morning at McCormick Place for a chance to see the president's speech in person.

CHICAGO, IL — The available free tickets for President Barack Obama's farewell address next week at McCormick Place went quickly Saturday as thousands turned out early to the convention center despite frigid temperatures and a warning that people would not be allowed to camp out or begin lining up before a certain time.
Obama will deliver his speech Tuesday, Jan. 10, at McCormick Place. The event will be in the evening, but an exact start time has not been announced. Even though no more tickets are available to see the address in person, people can watch it live at the White House's website.
Ticket-seekers began arriving at McCormick Place as early as 4 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, for the free ticket distribution that started at 8 a.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. At 7 a.m., organizers had to turn away people, and a Chicago police alert told would-be ticket-seekers not to come out because of the cold weather, the report added.
