• Chicago, IL: Paola Judith Zamora Remembered by Family and Friends After September 17 Death (theunionstar.com) — Chicago friends and neighbors are rallying around the family of Paola Judith Zamora, a Pilsen resident remembered as a joyful, hardworking mother whose death on September 17 has left loved ones grieving and facing funeral costs. A GoFundMe organized by her mother-in-law has already raised tens of thousands toward services, while former coworkers and community members share memories of her impact across the city.
   

• Suspect in murder of Chicago OEMC employee detained pending trial (wgntv.com) — A Chicago judge has ordered a man held without pretrial release in the killing of Da'J Flowers, a city OEMC employee found shot multiple times in her Rogers Park condo. Prosecutors say Flowers planned to leave the relationship and that DNA, surveillance video, and phone records link the suspect to the crime before he allegedly fled to Washington state. Her family is now focused on seeking justice and honoring her legacy of service.
