Police are seeking the striking vehicle in a hit-and-run crash killing a pedestrian early Saturday in the West Loop neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, according to police.

The crash happened around 1:05 a.m. Saturday at Green Street and Washington Boulevard. According to police, the driver in the striking vehicle did not stop to help the pedestrian or exchange information. The vehicle was last seen continuing eastbound on Washington Boulevard.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was not immediately identified.
Based on witness information, police believe the striking vehicle is a black 2006 to 2010 Mercedes-Benz four-door sedan. The vehicle should be missing the passenger side mirror and have front end damage.
