Plainfield Central Athletics aiming to raise $10,000 through test drive fundraiser hosted by Hawk Mazda

On Thursday, August 20, Plainfield Central High School is partnering with Hawk Mazda in Plainfield for a unique community fundraiser that aims to raise $10,000 for the school’s student-athletes.

The local fundraiser marks the kickoff for the second annual Mazda Be Moved Drive Program. Hawk Mazda will bring a fleet of its most exciting new vehicles to the school during Curriculum Night, donating $50 to the school for every test drive taken.

The fundraiser gives students, families, teachers, and members of the community an opportunity to help raise critical funds for the school’s athletics department.

Helping to rally the community is Ryan Wellhelimi, a Plainfield Central special education teacher, football and badminton coach, and faculty sponsor for the school’s Armed Forces Club, who has witnessed firsthand how access to equipment, transportation, and other resources affects student-athletes.

The fundraiser is expected to create more opportunities for students to get involved in athletics, which help teach valuable life skills like sportsmanship and perseverance.

The fundraiser is open to anyone who would like to support Plainfield Central student-athletes.
