1) Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx is dropping four sex-abuse charges against disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly. Foxx made the announcement one day before a scheduled court hearing on state charges filed in February 2019, accusing Kelly of sexually abusing four people, three of whom were minors. (Axios)
2) Throughout the last month, the Chicago Department of Transportation installed speed bumps and posts at more than 12 intersections, to help make crossing safer for pedestrians. The devices are designed to force drivers to take left turns at slower speeds and sharper angles. But the changes have led to confusion by some drivers. (Chicago Tribune)
3) A community-funded mental health clinic is coming to 3557 W. Armitage Ave. in Logan Square. It will provide a full range of services, including couples, family, individual and group therapy, psychiatry and case management. The facility is funded through a property tax increase approved in 2018, and is expected to open about six months after the space is built out. (Block Club Chicago)
4) Two Chicago rescue puppies will make an appearance at the 19th annual Puppy Bowl XIX. Ziggy and Jersey will join Team Ruff for the big game, airing at 1 p.m. CST on Animal Planet. Both dogs were born into One Tail at a Time pet shelter but have since been adopted. The Puppy Bowl aims to raise awareness of pet adoptions. (NBC 5)
5) Eight cases of Thin Mint cookies were stolen from Troop 25778 Saturday afternoon. The boxes were stolen while scouts ages 5 to 11 and their parents were unloading and sorting them on pallets in the 6100-block of West Higgins Road. The 84 boxes of cookies are worth about $420. Police haven't recovered them. (ABC 7)
