Cubs Fans' Train Catches Fire On Way Home From NLCS Loss
An outbound Metra train was halted for over an hour in Evanston after its engine caught fire Thursday night.

EVANSTON, IL — A train carrying more than 400 people, including many north suburban Cubs fans on their way home after watching their team get eliminated from the playoffs, caught fire and had to be evacuated in Evanston late Thursday.
According to a Metra spokesperson, outbound train No. 367 left Ogilvy Transportation Center around 10:35 p.m. and stopped at Davis Street station in Evanston shortly before 11 p.m. due to smoke coming from an electrical fire underneath its engine.

The Union Pacific North line train had been scheduled to make all stops on the way to Waukegan.
Passengers who remained waiting at the station boarded the following train, No. 369, and were delayed about an hour and a half.

There were no reports of injuries to passengers or crew.
