A look at this week's forecast for the Chicago area.

It’s time to open the windows and let that fresh air in. After a brutally hot summer, more comfortable weather is finally here and temps in the 70s are in the forecast for much of this week.
This week is also expected to be mostly dry, except for Tuesday and Friday, when there is a chance of storms and rain during both days and nights.

- Sunday Night: Clear. Lows in the mid 50s in the suburbs...but in the upper 50s downtown. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
- Monday: Sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
- Monday Night: Clear in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
- Tuesday: Partly sunny. Chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 80. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
- Tuesday Night: Cloudy. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening...then a chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 60s. West winds 5 to 10 mph in the evening becoming northwest 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
- Wednesday: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 70s.
- Wednesday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 50s in the suburbs...but in the upper 50s downtown.
- Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 70s.
- Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 60.
- Friday: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid 70s.
- Friday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers. Lows in the mid 60s.
