Shooting Reported At Oakbrook Center: Police
A heavy police presence is expected at the mall, which is remaining open Wednesday, and in the surrounding area.
OAK BROOK, IL — Police confirmed a shooting at Oakbrook Center Wednesday afternoon, saying everyone involved was in custody or accounted for and there was no immediate threat.
The shopping center remained open as of a 1:10 p.m. update from Oak Brook police. A heavy police presence was expected at the mall and in the surrounding area.
"All parties involved are in custody or accounted for," police said in the update.

The department first announced the shooting at 12:40 p.m., describing it as an isolated incident and saying there was no active threat. The investigation remained ongoing.
The updates did not specify whether anyone was injured, how many people were in custody or what led to the shooting. Police also did not identify the exact location within the shopping center.
