Sports Celebrities Discuss Hot Topics at Chicago Sports Summit

Headliners include: Matt Forte, Dara Torres, Michael Reinsdorf, Rick Hahn, and Jack O'Callahan

Professional athletes, Olympic competitors and top brass from Chicago sports teams will debate crucial issues in sports during the 3rd annual Chicago Sports Summit, Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. This year’s event highlights will include a panel of Olympians passionately addressing the Me Too movement and discussing how female athletes are breaking barriers. Another panel including professional athletes and Olympians will discuss how player’s health issues and new game regulations are affecting the future of pro sports.

Some of the sports celebrities and leaders participating as panelists include: Dara Torres, 12-time Olympic medal swimmer; Mike Adamle, former Chicago Bear and NBC5 sports anchor; Matt Forte, former Chicago Bear running back; Kendall Coyne, member of the 2018 gold medal Olympic hockey team; Jack O’Callahan, “Miracle on Ice” 1980 Olympic hockey team member and former NHL pro; Diane Simpson, two-time Olympian and member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame; Michael Reinsdorf, Chicago Bulls President and CEO; Rick Hahn, Chicago White Sox vice president and general manager; and Nelson Rodriguez, Chicago Fire Soccer Club president and general manager.

The Summit will raise funds for the Chicago Sports Summit Foundation, an organization supporting the physical and educational development of Chicago-area youth through partnerships with local charities sharing the same vision. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to After School Matters, a non-profit organization offering innovative extracurricular activities in the arts, communication, sports, science and technology to at-risk teenagers; and Girls in the Game, a non-profit encouraging girls to discover their strengths and lead with confidence through fun and active sports, health and leadership programs.
