From Warm and Windy to Brisk and Blustery: Weekend Weather
It's time to dig out those winter coats. Our hour-by-hour forecast tracks the drop in temps on Friday and into Saturday.

Brace for it, suburbanites. The Chicago area could see temperatures plunge from highs near 70 on Friday to lows in the teens over the weekend. Blustery weather with wind gusts as high as 45 mph, snow flurries and thunderstorms are also possible in the coming days.
Friday should start out warm, with temps reaching highs in the mid- to upper-60s for portions of the Chicago area, but those temperatures will drop off Friday afternoon and into the evening when a strong cold front rolls in, according to the National Weather Service.
Some showers and even storms may accompany this front, and wind gusts as strong as 45 mph are expected. Temperatures could reach lows in the 30s Friday night.

As the cold temperatures roll in, it looks like the colder weather is here to stay as we head into the holiday week. While the drop-off may feel drastic, this weekend's temperatures are much closer to normal seasonal temps than what we've experienced so far this fall, National Weather Service meterologist Eric Lenning told the Chicago Tribune. The Chicago area has experienced the second-warmest start to November on record this year.
"We're actually going to be getting back toward a normal mid-November weather pattern," said Lenning in regards to this weekend's temps.
