Trump Supporter Pleads Guilty in 'Hamilton' Disruption Case
John Palmer, 56, was accused of interrupting a Chicago performance of the musical in November.

CHICAGO, IL — The Donald Trump supporter arrested after allegedly disrupting a performance of the musical "Hamilton" in Chicago pleaded guilty Monday in connection with the incident, the Chicago Tribune reports.
John Palmer, 56, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor treaspassing and was sentenced to six months of court supervision, the report stated. He also was ordered to not revisit the musical's Chicago run or any Broadway in Chicago productions for the next six months, the report added.
Palmer, the CEO of an Iowa-based company, attended the Nov. 19 performance of "Hamilton" at PrivateBank Theatre with his family. After the cast sang the lines, "Immigrants/We get the job done," Palmer allegedly shouted, "We won," and obsentities at the stage.

The interruption by Palmer, who appeared intoxicated at the time, lasted for about two songs, and he resisted attempts by security to escort him from the theater.

The disruption happened a day after the cast of New York City's production of "Hamilton" delivered a pointed message to Vice President-elect Mike Pence received a message during a performance.
"We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” said cast member and actor Brandon Victor Dixon. “We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us.”
