WATCH IT AGAIN: Protesters Moon Trump Tower Over President's Refusal to Release Tax Returns

Hundreds of people showed up to demand the president release his taxes.

CHICAGO, IL — This weekend's "snow" moon lunar eclipse has been grabbing headlines around the country. But in Chicago, the big moon people might be talking about around the water cooler Monday morning could be the one at ground level Sunday afternoon, not the one in the sky Friday night.

A little more than 1,000 demonstrators said they planned to participate in "Operation: Kiss Our Asses, Release Your Taxes," a protest Sunday, Feb. 12, to demand President Donald Trump divulge his tax returns. Participants planned to drop their drawers and moon Trump International Hotel and Tower, 401 N. Wabash Ave., according to the protest's Facebook page.

"Donald Trump doesn't think the American people want to see his tax returns, so let's show him that we do in the classiest way possible!" states the description for the event, which is using #rumpsagainsttrump for social media platforms.

Demonstrators began assembling around 3:30 p.m. across from the building along the Chicago River, near Wabash Avenue and Wacker Drive. The mass exposure started at 4 p.m., giving those with delicate sensibilities or anyone simply adverse to seeing so many bare derrieres on a Sunday afternoon an opportunity to avoid the area or avert their eyes.

Patch live streamed the event as editors Patrick Martin and Joe Vince talked to demonstrators about why they chose shaking their tailfeathers on a windy February afternoon as a form of protest. (WARNING: Video might contain bare butts. Viewer discretion advised.)

And for those wondering: Judges in Maryland and California have ruled that mooning as a form of protest is afforded First Amendment protection and is not considered indecent exposure.
