What Makes America Great: Through the Eyes of the Artist

Robert Morris University Illinois students and art faculty participated in the CAN Campaign; the exhibit opens at the State Street Gallery.

In partnership with the Creative Action Network (CAN), Robert Morris University Illinois is sponsoring a new exhibition titled “What Makes America Great” in the University’s State Street Gallery, 401 S. State Street in Chicago. Running from June 12 to September 17, the exhibit will feature winning posters from CAN’s campaign of the same title. During the first 100 days of the current administration, a poster which depicted the theme was featured on the CAN website.

The campaign was very popular and received several hundred entries, of which 146 were juried into the online exhibition. During the “100 days,” RMU had six featured posters designed by four graphic design students and two art faculty members, with a total of 14 pieces accepted.

The printed posters will be on exhibit and will be available for purchase for $30 each. Proceeds will benefit the RMU Scholarship Fund, Dream Corps and students designers.
