White Sox's Hopes Of Extending Season Postponed By Rainy Forecast

CHICAGO — The forecast of inclement weather heading for Chicago on Monday afternoon has led to a postponement of Game 4 of the American League Division Series, which the White Sox were looking to even against the Houston Astros.

The game has been rescheduled for 1:07 p.m. Tuesday at Guaranteed Rate Field, the team announced.

All tickets and parking passes for Monday’s game will be transferred for Tuesday’s rescheduled game. Gates for the ballpark will open at 11 a.m., and parking lots will open at 10.

The White Sox staved off elimination Sunday night when they knocked off the Astros 12-6 in a slugfest in which the Sox roared back from a 5-1 deficit. The Sox will need another win Tuesday if they hope to extend the series.

“The guys were, ‘Hey, we got a lot of game. A lot of game. We're going to keep playing. We're going to play nine,’” manager Tony La Russa told reporters after the game. “They're going to play nine. That's the way they are. It's really a tough-minded bunch, and sometimes you get rewarded with a comeback like that, but it's just the way we've been.”

Carlos Rodon, who has been among the most reliable starters for the Sox this season, is slated to take the mound in Game 4. Houston is scheduled to counter with right-hander Jose Urquidy as the Sox look to once again stave off elimination.
