Wife of Peter Francis Geraci to Pay Six Figures After Assault Lawsuit

A jury decided Holly Geraci assaulted a dog walker in a River North condo elevator in 2013.

Chicago, IL - Anyone who has lived in Chicago and watched television over the last couple of decades knows the name.

Peter Francis Geraci. The bankruptcy attorney said to have one of the most “boring” and overplayed commercials of all-time, promising to get you out of debt if you make one simple phone call.

His wife, Holly Geraci, obviously isn’t in debt. But she will have to pay a hefty, six-figure sum to a dog walker for an alleged assault incident in a River North elevator three years ago.

A jury decided recently Holly Geraci must pay $275,000 to Robin Di Buono, according to a DNAinfo Chicago report.

During the 2013 confrontation in the elevator of a condo on Hubbard Street, Holly Geraci claimed Di Buono “pummeled” her 20-30 times after entering the elevator with two dogs. Di Buono claimed Geraci was the aggressor, grabbing her from behind, yelling at her to get off the elevator and causing physical injuries.

While both parties initially agreed not to press criminal charges, Geraci did. Di Buono was found not guilty in court. Geraci also sued Di Buono. Di Buono filed a countersuit that has won pending appeal.

Di Buono described the “overwhelming trauma” she has suffered in losing business at her pet grooming business and not being able to walk her dogs downtown because of the incident.

She also accuses Geraci’s celebrity attorney husband of making threatening remarks when the elevator incident escalated.

DNA reports Di Buono claimed Peter Francis Geraci said he would "bring the wrath" of his lawyer firm if she pressed charges.

"He made a slapping gesture an inch from my face and said 'If you don't drop these charges I will ruin your life and make you wish you were dead,'" Di Buono claimed in court.

A Geraci attorney claims “misconduct” by Di Buono’s attorney and vows that the judgment will be “vacated on post-trial motions or reversed on appeal."
