Neighbor News

15th st and Schilling ave. Chicago heights.

15th st and Schilling ave. What's happened 8/19 And no one is talking.

I'm a concerned citizen that lives near 15th and Shilling Avenue and I've arrived to my home several times to a scene of police and ambulances and fire trucks. I've searched the police blotters the newspapers and the web to no avail no information no anything to be found. I would like to know if my safety is in danger and I find it very disturbing that the Chicago Heights Police is not informing the public of what is going on in this area. There are actually law-abiding citizens living nearby that would like to know what is going on and I find it very disturbing that you are not notifying us as to what is going on. Something should be posted letting us know if we are in danger or not I pay taxes I do what I'm supposed to do I'm homeowner and I feel that I should be notified if I'm in danger. This is the police's duty. To Serve and Protect isn't that your oath that you take. You aren't serving and protecting if you're not notify your citizens of what is going on especially in their neighborhood. Just because you think there's a Hispanic Community out there that is quote-unquote uneducated undocumented you are mistaken! I am Hispanic I am not uneducated I am not undocumented and I deserve to know what is going on. When I heard gunshots ringing out in my neighborhood almost on a nightly basis and I see police barricading streets almost on daily basis I feel I deserve to know what is going on to protect myself. Or to know if I should sell and get the hell out of this neighborhood! I've lived in sites since I was a child and I'm starting to feel like it is extremely dangerous it feels like the police are just out for themselves and not to protect the well serving people of the community. And believe me there are so many of us!
