70-Year-Old Chicago Heights Man Sold Crack Cocaine at Senior Center, Police Say

A senior citizen was accused of selling crack at his senior center.

A Chicago Heights senior citizen has been arrested for allegedly selling crack cocaine on multiple occassions at the senior community in which he lives.

Eddie Cain, 70, of Golden Towers Senior Community in the 1700 block of East End Avenue in Chicago Heights, was charged Thursday with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance on public housing property.

He was arrested following an undercover investigation during which he reportedly sold crack on two different days to an undercover officer in the complex parking lot, according to a Cook County Sheriff's Office news release.

The Housing Authority of Cook County tipped off Cook County Sheriff's Police last month about the suspected drug sales at Golden Towers, officials said. Cain was released on an I-bond, or personal recognizance bond, after a Thursday hearing at the Markham Courthouse.

"We appreciate the partnership we have with the Sheriff to keep our facilities safe in Chicago Heights
and throughout Cook County," said Richard Monocchio, executive director of the Housing Authority of
Cook County.
