Barricade Situation Results From Armed Robbery In Dolton
Reports indicate a shooting incident preceded a police standoff in Dolton Wednesday afternoon.

DOLTON, IL -- A shooting suspect in south suburban Dolton remains holed up in a family member's home near Sibley Boulevard and Evers Street, according to an ABC-7-Chicago television report.
Reporter Eric Horng related that the man barricaded himself after a shooting that resulted from an attempted armed robbery in the area. The man reportedly barricaded himself in a home owned by a relative.
Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins said the situation began around 12:30 p.m. when the suspect and victim agreed to exchange an iPhone.

"The victim there to buy iPhone and the subject pointed gun," Collins said. "The offender ended up shooting victim in the side."
ABC reports the suspect is a man in his late teens who ran into a family home after the incident and has remained there ever since.

Police may attempt to secure a warrant and enter the home, but as of 6 p.m. ABC reports they are still attempting to have the suspect surrender.
